Question: Hi,
I am on Klonopin 3 mg. I would like if once Klonopin has reached his steady state the cumulative effect of the drug is strongest and firm, without downsides, just on the contrary

I just have another question, since i've read that caffeine inhibits the metabolism of Klonopin: it means that Klonopin works more slowly if i take caffeine? I take caffeine but i try to take the minimum to avoid interference with Klonopin.

Caffeine is an alerting product. It reduces sleep while clonazepam induces sleep. By this mechanism they interact with each other can reduce effectiveness of each other.
Caffeine is metabolized by CYP1A2 while klonopin is metabolized by CYP3A4(and that is also minor pathway).So at metabolism level interaction is unlikely.
In conclusion caffeine may reduce effects of clonazepam and that depends on dose. However half life of caffeine is around 4-5 hours. So in that context you can keep distance between dose of two drugs and can enjoy caffeine without compromising effects of klonopin.

I am asking this because you wrote to me that i could reach that steady state after 5-7 days, but i am intermediate metabolizer for cyp 2c19 and Dr. Mehta told me that because of this, steady state can be delayed. I feel better and sometimes my "ocd like" symptom maybe created by Solian seems defintely gone, but sometimes i still have downsides, so i try to understand what can be happening,

When a fixed dose is administered at regular intervals, a drug will accumulate in the body during the absorption phase until it reaches steady state, during which the rate of drug intake equals the rate of drug elimination. Clonazepam is protein bound drug. It's steady state reaches in 5 to 7 days. After reaching to steady state there will be stable level of the drug in blood without much fluctuation.So your point 'that day after day there are more amounts of the drug in the body/plasma especially ONCE THE STEADY PLASMA STATE IS REACHED,' is not right.
However steady state does not mean that drug level would be fixed at particular number but it is always a range. When person takes a fresh dose there will be a peak plasma level of the drug which is highest level of that steady state range.In case of klonopin it is roughly around 2-4 hours after the dose.This level gives maximum positive effect.At this level you are feeling that your symptoms are totally gone.Above this level there may be chances of some side effects. After maximum duration from last dose drug level reaches to the lowest level of steady state range and that is likely responsible for your downsides.
There is no way that we can fix level of drug in body when drug is orally administered.And klonopin does not have any effect on molecular level (like new protein formation), it works directly.So enough concentration of the drug should be there in plasma for effects.If you feel overall better with some fluctuation I think it is good that you are tolerating drug well without significant side effects.
