What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy When On Clomid And Ovitrel?
Question: Hi,
I am 32 years old and I have a 2years old baby.. my last period was on 14th Nov. .. I went to the doctor to get pregnant and I started clomid on my second day 1Tablet eveey day.. in my 6th day I did scanning and they found that I responded so quickly.. they gave me ovitrel 250 in my 8th day and I did one more scanning on my 10th day ... every thing was perfect.. i did sexual contact after 36 hours from the injection for 3 days... today is day 7th after the injuction and I did the pregnancy test at home and the line was so light .. should I be excited?

Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion urine pregnancy test is to be done after missed period for good results.
Diagnosis of pregnancy by blood or urine can be made by 8 to 11 days after conception.
Radioimmunoassay (RIA) is the procedure done to detect the pregnancy by blood as early as 8 to 9 days after ovulation.
For example if the ovulation occurred on 14th day RIA will be positive on 22nd or 23 rd day.
False results might be due to LH hormone which is seen during the 2nd half of cycle (luteal phase).
So madam I feel it is too early to detect the pregnancy.
You might go for RIA to diagnose pregnancy early.
Or you can wait up to the expected period date and do a urine pregnancy test after a week of missed period.
For good results you can do with the first early morning urine sample.
