Question: This is the second time I have asked this question. It said I was answered but I did not get it. I have a vulva irritation that is very uncomfortable. I tried Monistat but it didn't help. I also tried ointment that came with the Monistat. I have not been to the doctor.

Brief Answer:
Can be vaginal atrophy or dermatitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.

The local irritation of the vulva is sometimes very distressing. This can be due to a vaginal yeast infection that sometimes is not cured alone with Monistat. You may need oral antifungal agents like Fluconazole.

This can be related to allergy due to the use of reagents like chemical soaps also.

A common cause among postmenopausal females is vaginal atrophy due to low levels of estrogen. You can get it examined by your gynecologist and get local estrogen gel prescribed for relief.

I hope this answers your query.
