The Issue Started 3 Months Ago. The Moment I Was

Question: The issue started 3 months ago. The moment i was just about to fall asleep. I hear my own faint snore- Think nasal. That wakes me up and I had to start sleeping again. I was a heavy snorer too. I had a bmi of 29

ENT investigations revealed - Mild deviated nasal septum and Mallampati grading is given as 2. No other abnormalities found. Fluticason spray was given along with mild sedatives and was sent home. I did not have day time sleepiness nor was gasping / choking so doctor did not think it to be OSA.

Its been 3 months I got my BMI to 27. Reduced 7 kgs ( still working on getting fit). My snoring reduced by 90 percent and I am snoring extremely less. Occasionally though I still hear my own faint snore before falling asleep. I read that hearing your own snore in lighter stages of sleep is normal but it still wont put me at ease. Out of a week at least twice I hear my own snore a couple of times before falling asleep.

Although I am no doctor wondering if this could be upper airway resistance syndrome / OSA / some thing else.

I just want to know what would be the best recommendations regarding this problem. I just want to go to bed close my eyes and wake up again with out hearing my own snore.
When this happen I never choke / gasp for breath

Brief Answer:
Further weight lose

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query

I have gone through your query.

I would recommend you to wait for some more time aiming at further weight loss. BMI 27 is still on the higher side. Further weight loss can help you to get rid of snoring completely. Getting least conscious about the snoring may take time as it involves a bit of psychological aspects.

Hope, I answered your query.

Wish you good health.
