Brief Answer:
Rest is needed for healing.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.

A collapse of the vertebra can cause a nerve compression with a persistent pain. Absolute bed rest for 4-6 weeks is needed for the bone to heal. Walking will cause pain. This will take 1-2 months to subside.

You can use a back brace to decrease the pain. Rest and mild pain killers will also help.
I hope this answers your query.

In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.

Wishing you good health.
Regards.
