Brief Answer:
Take a gradual approach to reduce Zyprexa

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Hesalthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

This is well established fact that Zyprexa causes weight gain and I do not think we need to discuss it. What is important for us is to manage weight while on Zyprexa or by stopping the medication. There is good chance that weight will revert toward normal side on discontinuation of zyprexa.

What I can see that you experienced withdrawal effects of zyprexa within two days of discontinuation. I think the sudden withdrawal after four years of use never advocated and if you are willing to discontinue this is the way

Week 1
3/4 tablet of 2.5 mg zyprexa- I know the tablet is not scored and not difficult to break but we need to take this much pain as it does not affect the efficacy of medication

Week 3
Half tablet of Zyprexa 2.5 mg

week 5
One fourth tablet of Zyprexa 2.5 mg

I can assure that gradual withdrawal approach will never cause similar kind of problem as experienced by you and will help you in weight management.

I hope this helps you.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for my future patients.
