I appreciate you that you posted photos of affected area. You gave history of whitish patch on prepuce extending to glans of penis. After seeing photos,I feel that most probably you may be having vitiligo... Still, I would like to ask you few questions to you, please answer.

- do you have such lesions elsewhere?
- any complaint of itching, burning or pain on the affected area?

- any other systemic disease? Like DM,thyroid dysfunction or other..
- any medicine you take for skin disease or systemic disease?

- past history of Sexually transmitted disease like herpes, syphilis?

Brief Answer:
Vitiligo is the most likely issue.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome back..

Thanks for answering.

In my opinion, you most probably have vitiligo. It is considered to be idiopathic depigmentation of the skin. However, there may be some triggering factors responsible for developing vitiligo. In your case, condom might have precipitated the disease. So, now onward, please avoid the use of condom. Discuss this with your partner before you have sex.

There is no perfect medicine for the cure of vitiligo. Medicines like trioxsalen, levamesole..etc may be taken to have repigmentation after consulting dermatologist personally. Tacrolimus oint or pimecrolimus cream application might improve the disease.

At this point it would be a good idea to have this examined by a dermatologist in person.

I would like to inform you that the disease you have is totally benign and harmless. So, there is no need to worry.Only cosmetic concerns may be there. The white patches might occur elsewhere. There is no medicine to prevent further spread. Please avoid contact with latex,adhesives,deodorants,soap..etc . Avoid excessive rubbing on the skin, trauma and burn injuries.

I hope this would help you in managing your skin disease. Still, any query..please ask...ok

Thanks.

Thanku Doctor for reply.
I have some more doubt about this.
1. Will it spread if the affected skin come in contact with normal skin...?
2. Is it possible for my wife to get this disease because of sex without condom ?

Brief Answer:
Vitiligo

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome back..

Vitiligo is not an infectious disease, it will not occur in your wife due to sex without condom.

And normal skin might develop vitiligo, but not due to contact with affected skin. It may occur anywhere..as you might have tendency to develop vitiligo.

I hope you got answers of your queries.

You do not worry. It is a benign condition without any harm.

Thanks.

Best wishes.
