Question: I have very mild anemia, borderline, I am tired, and ache all over. All labs are normal except for the mild anemia. There is tenderness in the upper left quadrant of the abdomen. Doc has ordered CT scan. What is doctor likely looking for?

I forgot to say that I had mono (EBvirus) twice in graduate school 25 years ago. I have a doctorate (education) so I'm not stupid. Is there such a thing as cancer of the spleen? I thought that organ was sort of the body's janitor! What other illness of the spleen could it be if it's not cancer?
