Suggest Treatment For Tarlov Cyst That Is Causing Pain

default
Posted on Thu, 26 Jun 2014
Question: I had a fusion last XXXXXXX which has held up fine but am still suffering from a tarlov cyst that is just growing and no Dr. seems to want to even talk about it! It shows up on each MRI and is causing a great deal of pain much of the time and incontinence to my bladder! Do you have any suggestions on what I can do? I hate being in this continual pain even though I am on a pain patch and oral meds which I am sick of! This cyst has taken away my ability to do some of my ADL's at times and my ability to be as XXXXXXX as I once was. I would love to go back to work at the hosp. but there is no way I can with this problem. Please if you have any ideas?? Thank you so much! XXXXX

Brief Answer:
Minimal invasive procedure can be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have studied your case.

Tarlov cyst when asymptomatic can be left as it.
As you are having extreme pain and incontinence, so some intervention is required.
Many surgeons may not touch it as results may be controversial so I will advise some minimal invasive procedure like CSF aspiration, complete or partial removal, fibrin-glue therapy, amongst the surgical treatment.
You may consult with your treating doctor.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
