Question: My right armpit area is swollen, has been for a few days. No pain and I have not injured the arm. I am a 72 year old male and a forty year diabetic. My girl friend is suffering from multiple myeloma (3 years now), we kiss but are not sexually active. Any cause for immediate concern?

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry. Not a cause of immediate concern.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.

Your girlfriend has multiple myeloma. It is not an infectious diseases. vit is not spread by kissing or sexual contact. So it has nothing to do with your problem.

You have swollen armpit area. It can be due to some hair follicle infection or enlarged lymphnode.

You should maintain proper hygiene. If it remains persistent then you should go for examination whether it is lymphnode enlargement or any other cause.

Then you should take treatment accordingly. Right now it is not a csuse of immediate concern.

Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
