Suggest treatment for pain under the chin

Posted on Thu, 27 Jul 2017 in Lump
Question: I have a pain under my chin. It just generaly hurts all around the area but I can cause it to hurt if i touch it directly in the center, under the chin. About 1 inch from the end. It's about a 1/2 diameter area. Nowhere else around there hurts if I touch it. It came on suddenly 2 days ago. I ca't think of any point where I bumped it. There is no buise or blemish on the skin. There is no noticable swelling, but then, I had a beard untill today when I shaved it to look for an ingrown hair or bruise. So not sure I'd notice a minor swelling. And I do not habe a feavor or other symptoms of being sick.

It apeared out if nowhere and has not gotten better (or worce) for two days. It's strange and want to know what it could be and if I should go see my doctor.

Mostly developing boil in the submental region of face.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.com
I have evaluated your query thoroughly .

* This seems most likely to be developing boil , which might be from infection in
one of the hair follicle .
* I would recommend to send a high resolution photograph of the area if possible
& no objection , for further evaluation in regard to your question .

Hope this will help you .
Regards .

Brief Answer:
Small boil secondary to hair follicle infection mostly .

Detailed Answer:
Hi thanks for clear photograph .

* It is small boil secondary to hair follicle infection only .

* My suggestions

- Usually self limiting within 3-4 days period .
- Can apply ice followed by aloe vera gel thrice a day for soothing , anti
inflammatory action .
- Pain killer as tylenol ( 500 ) mg when required after meals .
- Take care not to injure it during shaving .
- Can comfortably watch for further 2 days , if remains as it in size or pain
increase should see doctor otherwise not required .

Wishing you fine recovery from the same .
I would like to give clearance of further doubts if any .
Regards dear take care .
