Suggest Treatment For Swelling In The Left Eye Of A Child

default
Posted on Thu, 1 Oct 2015
Question: My 9 mo old son started sleeping on his stomach one week ago. Every day since then he wakes with a swollen left eye, the side he sleeps on. It gets better throughout the day but seems to swell again if he naps over an hour and a half. The eye itself isnt ted and there is no discharge. Should i be concerned of any underlying pathology, ie nephrotic syndrome? Thanks so much

Brief Answer:
There is no cause for concern

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Ms XXXX

First and foremost let me reassure you there is no cause for concern. Children have loose connective tissue over the face and eyelid. Fluid does accumulate due to gravity effect if the child is sleeping in the same position for longer time.
As there are no signs of inflammation like redness , there is absolutely no cause for concern.

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad assist you.

Take Care
