Suggest Treatment For Swelling In Ankle And Foot After Traveling
Question: My husband takes 7mg of WarfarinOD for a PE diagnosed 18 months ago. He just returned from a three hour flight with ankle and foot swelling. No redness or discolaration noted. What will alleviate this? Presently he has no further symptoms. Should we be concerned?

I am Dr.Muhammad Ahmad. I have read your question completely, i understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.
In my opinion if there are no other symptoms then you dont have to worry it's due to flight plus he must have been sitting or standing before the flight at well for few hours , this is a common happening just need to keep his feet and legs elevated ..like if he is sitting he should keep his feet on the table in front..if in bes he can place a pillow under his feet.
Will take just a couple of days to vanish.
I would also mention here that Warfarin and P.E are of no concern in this issue so don't be anxious about them without signs any thing alarming is not expected.
He is taking Co-remipril which has a diuretic which will also take care of this edema so in a couple of days everything is expected to be normal.
