Question: Hi,

My Son is 8 years old, He has been complaining of stomach pan since last night. He did not sleep very well too last night. I took him to a doctor today morning and he asked me to give him Cyclopam (7.5 ml) in case he complains of pain. I gave him one dose at 10:30 am but he was still very low on energy and was refusing to eat much, He vomited at around 2 pm. I gave him Ondem and then gave lunch. I also, gave another dose of Cyclopam before putting him for afternoon nap. He is still complaining of stomach pain especially when he eats. Please help,

Brief Answer:
Acute gastritis/Peptic ulcer possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking Health care magic forum.

I have gone through your query.Your son's problem can be acute gastritis or peptic ulcer.Where exactly the location of pain he has?.If he has pain on left iliac fossa region (lower left quadrant of abdomen) or on umbilicus an acute appendicitis should be ruled out.A fever also is present in most case of appendicitis. It can be ruled out by local examination, ultrasound of abdomen and blood routine examination.Other condition which can occur with such symptom is bowel obstruction. An abdominal x ray will rule out that.
If that is clear and there is local tenderness (pain) in gastric region it is most likely gastritis or peptic ulcer. In such case i advise proton pump inhibitors like pantoperazole and anti emetic ondansetron if there is nausea or vomiting. In case of gastritis warm water bag application also gives relief.
Hope this may help you.Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks
