Brief Answer:
Thorough slit lamp examination required.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to HealthcareMagic.com

The symptoms you have described here are typically referred to as ' Painful Red Eye'.

There is a long list of differential diagnosis for such symptoms and we need to rule them out one by one.

For doing so you need a thorough ophthalmic examination by a qualified ophthalmologist.

The probable diagnosis could be a foreign body in your eye which is causing redness , lacrimation, grittiness and lid oedema. You need a Anterior segment slit lamp examination followed by removal of the foreign body under local anesthesia.

The second probable diagnosis could a form of conjunctivitis. Then we need to get an appropriate antibacterial, antifungal or antiviral cover.

An episode of Anterior Uveitis can present similarly and a through examination can rule that out.

Kindly visit an ophthalmologist at the earliest and please get back to us if you have any further query.

Hoping for a speedy recovery.

Regards,
