Brief Answer:
good prognosis if non neoplastic cystic lesion

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

Ok then. Usually, such small cystic lesion on the posterior pituitary are accidental findings. The are usually non symptomatic.

They might be non tumoral like Rathke cleft cyst and tumoral like adenoma.

The prognosis depends on
- the size,
- compression of nearby organs especially when it comes to optic chiasm and
- the nature of cyst (whether non/ neoplastic)

No treatment is required when small in size and asymptomatic. Watchful waiting strategy is proposed.

Surgery is the most common treatment.

Hope it was of help!
