Suggest Treatment For Shoulder Pain And Pinched Nerve

Question: About 9 weeks ago I noticed 1 small posterior cervical node. Now there are three, they are all small. However, about four weeks ago I started having terrible shoulder pain on top of the glenohumoral joint. I thought maybe I had a pinched nerve and in the process of trying to 'unpinch' it, I have discovered a supraclavicular node about the size of a nickel on my left side. It is hard but does move if I rotate my shoulder back far enough to bring it to the surface. It also feels like the vessels around this node are distended. I have had no illnesses, or infections except for a bladder infection about 6 weeks ago. Took antibodies for 1 week at that time. I have lost about 22 lbs in the last 7 months (start weight 160). I was wondering if this is something I should worry about or just attribute it to the bladder infection awhile back.

Explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Based on your description, the weight loss history is significant. Tuberculosis and malignancy both can present in similar way and need to be ruled out. Its not related to the bladder infection. If it were a viral or benign bacterial cause then time and empiric therapy with antibiotics would have taken care of it. But on the contrary you have lost weight. Blood counts, basic metabolic panel and most importantly an excisional lymph node biopsy must be considered in consultation with your doctor to reach a final diagnosis.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
