Suggest Treatment For Sharp Stinging Pain In The Vaginal Area

default
Posted on Fri, 2 Dec 2016
Question: For the past 3 days, I've been experiencing 2 issues: (1) an intermittent, sharp stinging pain in the inner wall of my vagina that lasts for a few seconds at a time, roughly 5-6 times per day and (2) a painful, hard, bean-sized lump hanging outside of my anus. It is not soft, like the 2 hemorrhoids I've had in the past. It's dark reddish in color. Could these issues be related? I'm wondering if a doc appt is necessary or if this is something that might clear up in a few days. I'm 38 years old. Not pregnant. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Could be hemorrhoids, please send a photo in...

Detailed Answer:
Hi my dear,

I understand your concerns.

The painful, hard, bean-sized lump hanging outside your anus could be hemorrhoids. Can you please send a photo of it so I can analyze myself?
Although they do not seem as the other hemorrhoid lumps you had in the past, the dark reddish lump could be hemorrhoidal lump.
That's not worrisome, although it is a must to stabilize your bowel movements (avoid constipation or extreme straining) and use anti-hemorrhoid cream locally to ease the pain and help restore the normal function of the anus.

Next, the intermittent, sharp stinging pain in the inner wall of your vagina that lasts for a few seconds at a time, roughly 5-6 times per day could be related to hemorrhoids and constipation. The fecal mass that is stuck at the end point of the colon is pressing the nearby organs including the vaginal wall and the nearby nerves causing the pain you experience.

As this has been going on for 3 days now, I think it's time you should get a further consultation with proctologist (surgeon specialized in anal problems) in order to determine the best treatment strategy for your case.

Thank you!
