Suggest Treatment For Severe Skin Dryness Caused By Allergy
Question: Skin got some kind of allergy since last one month. Getting really Dry and layers keep getting peeling out at the ends of Feet and Hands and its not healing easily. Please suggest medications for this.

I have gone through your query and I have understood your concern.
You seem to have an underlying dry skin which has probably exacerbated under the influence of weather.
This individual tendency to dry skin is inherited and manifests as decreased water retentive capacity of skin Or increased transepidermal water loss from skin, usually in respose to cold and dry weather which extracts all moisture from skin leaving the skin feeling dry and cracked. Hands are feet are usually the driest parts of body and may develop fissures and even cracks in response to dryness.
Soaps and frequent washing of hands tends to exacerbate the problem.
If I was the treating doctor I would advice you to use a urea Or ammonium lactate based moisturiser. These ingredients act as humectants--they absorb moisture from the atmosphere and trap/ seal it inside the skin e.g Amlactin Or Amylac cream (contains 12% ammonium lactate)-- as well as also exfoliating dry/ dead skin.
In addition to the moisturiser I would suggest you to use a potent topical steroid e.g 0.05% clobetasol propionate, specially at the sites of cracks, peeling skin at finger tips for 2 weeks. This cream should be applied twice daily, after applying the moisturiser. Once the cracks/ fissures and skin peeling subsides this cream can be stopped and thereafter the improvement maintained by continuing with the moisturiser.
