Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In Front Of Scapula After Treating Broken Shoulder

Question: My wife has undergone (2)surgeries to repair a broken shoulder. Her orthopedist says the reverse shoulder procedure was successful, however she suffers from extreme pain constantly in the area immediately to the forefront of the scapula. How do we identify the source of the pain and who do we consult with for treatment?

I have gone through your query and understand your concern.Your wife has got reverse shoulder replacement surgery.Now she is having pain anterior to scapula which is severe one. Pain in initial weeks of surgery is likely to occur. This pain reduces with Physiotherpy of few weeks to months. She can consult Physiotherpist for it. Till then analgesic ( she already taking) can be taken.

I wanted to know How many days back the operation was done? Whether she have fever ? You can get her vitamin D level as it can be cause of weak bones. You can get bone scan to know whether infection is cause. She should consult operating surgeon and Physiotherpist. You can discuss with your doctor about it.
