Suggest Treatment For Severe Chest Congestion And Deep Non-productive Cough

Question: dealing with a lot of chest congestion and deep non productive cough following a bout of Bronchitis. now on a second round of methylprednisolone tablets and now added hydrocodone-homatropine syrup. I was on antibiotics for 7 days last week.

I am so sorry to hear about this persistent cough. I have reviewed your information fully and the various treatment options. I will like to add carbocysteine to make these secretions lighter and easily to cough out. Drinking much water would also help in this. However, I think you have received enough antibiotics and there should be no reasons to think you have a persistent bacterial infection unless something else comes up at this time.

Follow up: Dr. Chobufo Ditah (11 hours later)

I sent this follow up earlier this morning....not sure you received it. I've been taking Mucinex (not DM) in order to try to bring something up...but it has not loosened anything. Should I continue to take the Mucinex?
