Suggest Treatment For Severe Back Pain

Question: My wife has had severe back pain for several days. The NHS tests eliminated kidney disease and silent heart attack. She has no rash suggesting that would indicate shingles. Co-dyramol (codeine and Tylenol/paracetamol) isn't working. Can she take naproxen withe the co-dyramol? Can she take hydrocortisone/app tab7.5 -3.25 with the codyramol?

Hello,

naproxen can be given with paracetamol/codeine and each drug will make the other even more potent. I don't believe that hydrocortisone is a good choice but she can also take it with the other drugs. One note though, naproxen and hydrocortisone may have many adverse effects particularly to patients with peptic ulcers, hypertension and kidney disease. So if you do have any of the above caution is required. You'd better get your doctor's advice first!
