Question: My grandfather of 79 years, had an accident followed by right patella separation almost 1 and a half month ago, was under medication and physiotherapy. Few days ago, after fresh X-ray, attending doctor diagnosed patella stiffness. My grandfather is now afraid of walking due to weakness in the leg. he is diabetic, had cerebral atrophy and was under treatment as well. Will he be able to walk normally again ? or is there any further treatment required?

Brief Answer:
Physiotherapy will be helpful.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query

I'm Dr Sudhir Kumar

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. He has got probably patella fracture and now developed stiffness of knee joint. Now its treatment is mobilisation excercises of knee joint ( physiotherapy). He can take analgesic such as ibuprofen. He is also likely to have having osteoarthritis of knee as it is common in your age. So he is likely to benefitted by glucosamine. I can serve you better if you can upload his x Ray. You can discuss with your doctor about it.

Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then I will be happy to help you.

Wishing him a good health.
Take care.
