Suggest Treatment For Redness Near The Toenails

default
Posted on Mon, 30 Jan 2017
Question: I gave myself a pedicure, cleaning the dirt along the side of the nail with a toothpick, while soaking in Epsom salt, this week, and I'm noticing redness on the lower left corner of the skin along the big toenail and its tender to the touch, not painful, just tender.
I also have a nail fungus in the top 1/3 of that nail that I've been treating with a natural products wife a day from Whole Foods. The original fungus is improving and growing out normally,
the pedicure was about 3 days ago and I just noticed the redness and tenderness this morning..

Brief Answer:
Can be due to trauma while pedicure, steroid antibiotic cream

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at Health Care Magic,

I have gone through your complaints and it could due to some trauma while pedicure.

If I were your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply a topical antibiotic steroid combination like cortisone cream and Neosporin ointment on the affected area twice daily for 5-7 days.

This should resolve it.

Moreover avoid wearing tight footwear.

Dr Asmeet
