Question: My eye is extremely red ans irritated. Not sure it is pink eye. What is the best treatment for this?

Long duration of irritation of the eye is caused by allergic conjunctivitis or dry eyes. The treatment is by use of anti-allergic eye drops or artificial tears eye drops.
Sudden onset of irritation of the eyes with redness or discharge is caused by infective conjunctivitis and it is treated by use of antibiotic eye drops.
Non specific irritation of the eyes is caused by exposure to dust, smoke, over use of computer/TV. The treatment is by use of decongestant eye drops and artificial tears eye drops.
