Suggest Treatment For Raised Rashes On Hands

default
Posted on Sat, 5 Apr 2014
Question: Hi, I have some pimples/allergy/rashes/ just raised (don't know, what to say) only on my both the hands (only between shoulder joint and elbow). I have this from more than 6 months, irrespective of climate/season. Important point here is, there is no pain, no itch, no burning sensation. When I touch, I can feel many small pimples raised. When I consulted a Dermatologist, he suggested me to change the bath soap and from then, I am using Neem related soaps. But, there is no change at all. I am Vegetarian, non-smoker, non-drinker. Please suggest. Thanks in advance.

Brief Answer: Acne, Topical benzoyl peroxide Detailed Answer: Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic I am Dr. Kakkar. I have gone through your concern and i have understood it. I would keep a possibility of Acne. Acne can involve face, trunk, chest and shoulders (all these areas are rich in sebaceous glands). If I was your treating doctor I would have asked you to use a topical benzoyl peroxide cream 4% (Brevoxyl cream) twice daily over the whole affected area. Benzoyl peroxide is antibacterial and keratolytic. Instead of a soap, you could use a benzoyl peroxide creamy wash once daily(Brevoxyl creamy wash) regards

Dear Kakkar, Thank you so much. As they are not just dark spots, but raised a bit, will the cream suggested by you works for that too? Regards, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer: Benzoyl peroxide Detailed Answer: Hi. Yes, it will. Benzoyl peroxide is antibacterial, keratolytic as well has a bleaching action. Therefore it would work to reduce both acne as well as pigmentation. regards
