Brief Answer:
Advice regarding premature greying and undereye dark circles

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query and i have understood your concern.

You have mentioned 2 concerns: Premature greying of hair and Dark Circles.

Greying of hair is mainly under genetic influence.

There is no treatment which will guarantee complete reversal of premature greying, however, various treatment options comprising both oral and topical forms have been studied and have proved effective in arresting as well as reversing premature greying.

Oral Calcium pantothenate and Para Amino Benzoic Acid Or PABA have been used by dermatologists with positive results in premature greying.

The dose that is usually prescribed is 200-300 mg, once daily for at least 6 months or even longer and can be tried in your case.

Topical 1% Melitane is also claimed to be effective in reversing premature greying.
It is available as a gel & has to be applied once daily at the roots. Results may take 2-3 months.

These are prescription products and therefore should be used under supervision of a dermatologist/ skin specialist.

Periorbital dark circles can be quite difficult to treat and here also hereditary seems to play a significant role.
Allergy prone individuals more often than not have 'dark circles' under eyes.

It also depends a lot on your lifestyle pattern- diet, sleep, computer / TV use and stress.
Stressors/ Strain due to working for long hours on computers & lack of sleep play a role too.

Dark circles may also form due to thin undereye skin. Blood contained in blood vessels shines through the thin undereye skin and hence this skin appears darker.

Another important cause of undereye dark circles is Iron deficiency Anemia.

You could benefit from using a cream containing Vitamin K and Retinol( EGA cream). Use it once a day for at least 3 months to notice a difference.

As can be judged from some of the reasons cited, good hydration, regular 6-8 hours of sleep, addressing stressors and a multivitamin and Iron supplement by themselves will go a long way in correcting this issue.

Glycolic acid and Arginine peels are the two commonly used peels by dermatologists for undereye dark circles. You can try a few peeling sessions (6-8 sessions).
Kindly visit a dermatologist in your vicinity for more details regarding peels.
