I do reside in XXXXXXX XXXXXXX and winter season is about to get over.

Also I do hear similar problems from so many other people (especially for women) from my colleagues and other people living in the same locality I do live.

Brief Answer:
Viral respiratory infection followed by secondary bacterial infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM

I have gone through your query. Your wife's problem can be most likely viral respiratory infection followed by secondary bacterial infection. Sporidex is not effective against bacterial infections affecting throat like Haemophilus influenzae. In that case Levofloxacin is effective. Continue the full course. At 5 days is needed to complete a course.
Get some steam inhalation. You can use plain steam or with inhalation capsules like Karvol plus.his will help to get rid off dryness in throat. She can also take chewable vitamin C. Drinking tea with lemon and honey , warm chicken or mushroom soup is also good. Warm salt water gargling is also good for throat.
If still no improvement then consult an ENT specialist for throat examination and swab culture.
Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
