Posted on Fri, 17 Mar 2017
Question: I AM NOT SURE IF I HAVE A TENDENT OR LIGAMENT TEAR BECAUSE THE PAIN HAS JUST STARTED TO BE THIS PAINFUL. I KNOW I NEED A KNEE REPLACEMENT, I HAVE HAD A REPLACEMENT IN MY LEFT KNEE 3 YEARS AGO. MY SURGENT HAS ALREADY DONE THE TESTS AND HAS SAID I NEED ONE ON MY RIGHT KNEE. I AM NOT IN TENNESSEE WHERE DR. SHERRILL PRACTICES, BUT IN XXXXXXX I WILL BE HERE UNTIL MY HUSBAND'S BROKEN WRIST IS REPAIRED. I HAD AN X RAY YESTERDAY TO SEE IF TREATMENTS OF HYALGAN WILL HELP THE PAIN. I AM 78 IN GREAT HEALTH.

Brief Answer:
Local injections can help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Arthritic changes in knee joints are often painful. To detect any tendon or ligament damage you will need an MRI scan of the knee. Right now in addition to pain killers and lubricating agents you can get local steroid injection or local hyaluronic acid injections. You can also use a knee brace for relief.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
