Suggest Treatment For Pain In Legs After Child Birth

default
Posted on Tue, 2 Aug 2016
Question: Having pain in legs while getting up. this is specially after my daughter's birth in April last year 2015.
Doctor suggested me to take Iron and calcium(Shellcal HD, and iron tablets) after the delivery but I was not able to take them on time/regularly.
Does this effect is due to some iron/calcium deficiency? please suggest appropriate supplements if i should start taking them again.

due to deficiency of calcium

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the query

Pain in the legs especially while getting up and sitting position is due to deficiency of calcium. so continue taking tablets with shellcal D and iron tablets but both tablets should be taken in the different timings.( either in the night or morning)
Eat food which is rich in calcium like milk, ragi, sesame powder etc

Change in lifestyle by
Eating healthier.
Managing your weight.
Exercise can reduce the pain to an extent

If it is not reduced with above method , meet local orthopedic surgeon for further evaluation.

Back and acute stomach pain happens to me during periods(consulted with doctors earlier this is rare but happens for some women's, i take muftal spas for it but if i dont take it proactively doesnt helps). Problem is this situation has'nt improved even after my 1st delivery(april last year). Is there any permanent solution to this(apart from removing the ovary which should last resort) I am really suffering due to it every month.

Hi
thanks for the query
Treatment of dysmenorrhea is aimed at providing symptomatic relief.
1 Medications used for dysmenorrhea includes pain killers and oral contraceptive pills (hormone therapy.
You can use the pain killers like NSAIDs(.Diclofenac Ibuprofen) as well as oral contraceptives (OCs) or sometimes doctors prescribes combination of this.
3 In addition to pain relief, mainstays of treatment include reassurance and education
for severe pain you can continue meftal spas, which reduces cramping pain
4. the levonorgestrel intrauterine device, and depot medroxyprogesterone acetate are still under trial
Treatment for secondary dysmenorrhea will vary with the underlying cause which includes Diagnostic laparoscopy, other hormonal treatments. So you have to meet gynecologist for further examination and treatment

Thank you
take care
