Question: I had pain in the ball of my foot while golfing. The pain went away after a while, and when I took my shoes off, my middle doe was almost blue, with the blue radiating into the middle of the foot, but the pain was gone.

Brief Answer:
It can be due to overuse

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. I think that most probably due to excessive walking or tight shoes this pain was there.Blue color of toe is suggestive of venous blood accumulation due to shoe tight XXXXXXX or extreme cold. If there is no pain now then you can continue walking and playing after hot water fomentation.
If there is recurrence of pain then you need to meet a orthopaedic doctor. He may advised you to check your uric acid for Gout and shoe modification.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other questions.
Thanks
