Question: My granddaughter has contacted HPV. She is going to the doctor and he is burning off the anal warts. They are spreading. Is there anything she can to stop this and reduce the warts. Is there a topical ointment she could use to reduce the irritation?

Brief Answer:
Hygiene and topical treatment suggested for anal HPV...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am sorry for the health situation your granddaughter is going through.

You report that she has been contacted HPV; while her doctor has burned them off; however, they are still spreading.

I'd recommend to use topical treatment such as those containing salycilyc acid; trichloroacetic acid or even condylox.

If they will keep spreading, she needs to contact her doctor again as she might need other medical intervention (e.g. cryotherapy or other intervention most suitable for her case).

Wish fast recovery.
