Suggest Treatment For Mucus And Redness In Eyes?

default
Posted on Fri, 26 Sep 2014
Question: I have dry eyes and last October my doctor put 'plugs' in. Everything was fine up until 2 months ago, when I started to wake up with mucus in my eyes and really red eyes. My eye doctor gave me additional eye drops but so far nothing has helped....

Brief Answer:
You need artificial tears for symptomatic relief.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic

I am Dr Dadapeer K, an ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are having dry eyes and allergic conjunctivitis. You are on treatment with Restasis eye drops, which contains cyclosporine and it is effective in treating dry eyes and rye allergy. The other two rye drops Alrex and Lastacraft are for your eye allergy.

The treatment is in right direction but along with these for symptomatic relief you need to use artificial tears eye drops.

Hence I advice you to continue same treatment as prescribed by your doctor and use artificial tears eye drops for symptomatic relief.

Hope the information is helpful to you.

Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you
With regards
