Suggest Treatment For Misophonia While On Vyvanse
Question: Hello Dr.
Thank you for your time.
I suffer from Misophonia (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misophonia). It really affects all my relationships and am desperately looking for treatment. I am already in touch with XXXXXXX Dozier and have done many hypnosis treatments and that did not help.
I know some people have experience with using Vyvanse and it helping their symptoms. Have you any experience????

I read your query and understand your concerns.
Although I do not have experience of using Vyvanse in misophonia but you are right in saying that it has been found useful. One of my colleague uses Vyvanse in people with misophonia and have experience of almost 6 patients of misophonia who responded to Vyvanse. Unfortunately the article is not published on this date and he may publish his findings in near future.
I use cognitive behavior therapy and quite comnmfortable with its outcome in misophonia. One of my patient who was diagnosed with OCD and misophonia responded well to 16 sessions of CBT and doing well on this date (CBT completed six months back). Another person with misophonia (isolated diagnosis) again responded with brief cognitive therapy. I must acknowledge that one of my patient dropped CBT in between and another two never responded to CBT till date.
To conclude it can be said that Misophnia can be treated with CBT as well as vyvanse although the evidence is limited on this date and only case reports are available.
