Intravitreal injections are the recent treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Madam
Welcome to health care magic.

I am Dr. Dadapeer K, an ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.

I reviewed your history.

Age related macular degeneration is of two types, dry and wet.
Dry one will not cause much vision impairment, and it is treated by use of antioxidants and nutritional supplements.
Wet one will cause visual impairment and treatment options are
1. Laser photo coagulation
2. Photodynamic therapy
3. Thermo therapy
4. The recent one and most successful one is intravitreal injections of anti vascular endothelial growth factors
5. Surgical treatment like submaclar surgery is still in research stage.

Please tell me details regarding your case like sub type, visual impairment.... so that I can answer for you more accurately.

Hope the information is helpful to you.

Thank you

Brief Answer:
Initially you can try laser treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thank you for the follow up question.

Considering your age you can go for laser photocoagulation first. Do discuss with your retinal specialist regarding this. The laser treatment will work if the lesion is not involving the macula of the retina. Since you are not having any vision related problems probably the degeneration is not involving the macula, hence I guess this can be treated by laser treatment.
If it is not possible then other alternative treatments can be considered as I had mentioned previously.
If possible do send reports or fundus photographs if any so that I can advice your condition more accurately.

Hope the information is helpful to you.

Thank you
With regards
