Suggest Treatment For Leg Cramps After Playing Tennis

default
Posted on Mon, 16 Nov 2015
Question: My husband was suffering from leg cramps from tennis (hot, humid and out of practice). He took a 500 pill of maganesium and is complaining of stomach pains and is very nervous. Should I be concerned or just let him drink more water, rest and let nature take its course through the bowel movement. He is easily panicked and thinks that he should go to the emergency room. I say NO and he should just let nature take its course.

thanks for your info

Brief Answer:
Ask him to take juicy fruits. Apply hot compress.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
The cramps could have been caused due to low potassium levels and taking juicy fruits like citrus fruits should help. He should also drink plenty of water as proper hydration is important. Hot compress would also provide relief.
For his abdominal pain, taking some antacid should provide relief. He can also take prilosec (omeprazole) once daily before breakfast.
Although in this case I do not think a visit to the ER is necessary, let me mention that depening upon the scenario you should definitely seek medical help wherever necessary. It is not always wise to let nature take its course.
