Brief Answer:
Sprain or internal structure injury

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.

You must have hurt your internal structures in knee during badminton playing. It needs proper clinical examination and relevant investigations to diagnose which structure is hurt. Common cause would be sprain. which usually relieves with rest and pain medications. Other possibilities are injury to ligament, meniscus, capsule or synovial capsule. These are best visualized on MRI (Magnetic Resonant Imaging).

You need to give rest to your knee. If it gives you relief you may resume sports after a gap of 2 or 3 weeks. A pair of knee supports can add to stability. But that again depends on your exact condition. If you don't get relief, proceed with MRI.
I hope this answers your query.

Wishing you good health.

I feel its sprain because of continuous impact and twisting force on knee joint during playing. Also sometimes only i feel that pain and continue to play daily.

What i want to know further is that it is better to wear knee pad for such cases? If so, what kind of knee pad i want to wear while playing.

Brief Answer:
Elastic bandage

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for follow up query.

For sprain better to give rest to affected part, because continued movement increase trauma. Knee pad is to support knee, So you can Support your knee with elastic bandage and keep the injured area raised and supported on a pillow to help reduce swelling.

Hope I answered your query. Feel free to ask further related query.

Respected Dr XXXXXXX

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Is elastic bandage is sufficient for my problem. Don't mistake me because I heared that in knee pad, 4 types are available. Depend on medical problem, each one can be used for particular issues only. Miss use of pad will causes several side effects and even will leads to surgical effects too. Is it true.?

Brief Answer:
Elastic bandage for sprain

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for follow up query.

For sprain condition elastic bandage is sufficient. Knee pad depends on type of injury. Only through examination we can conclude weather it's sprain or some thing else. So apply elastic bandage after getting examined by doctor.
