Brief Answer:
Rheumatoid factor

Detailed Answer:
good evening

thank. you for writing on health care magic

Well, I would like to know a few more details...

1. why was the test carried out... did she have any joint symptoms or was it performed routinely.

2. if she does have joint pains could you tell me the location of joints and if any swelling?

3. any other problem of thyroid.

Rheumatoid factor can be falsely. positive in a lot of people especially with growing age. so we need to know the other symptoms along with it and if it is significant or not. Being vegetarian has nothing to do with the test

do let me know these queries.. will guide you further from here

Brief Answer:
Is it rheumatoid ARthritis

Detailed Answer:
Good evening XXXXXXX

Well, considering the pain in the knees and finger joints, with rheumatoid factor positive, It is essential we examine the joints...Firstly, we need to be sure she has rheumatoid arthritis before we start her on the medications as the medicines will go on life long. I will recommend you a few more test and do update me with the results

Secondly, Finger and knee joint pain can be due to Osteoarthritis also. So weak positive rheumatoid factor may not hold much significance then. As I mentioned, Clinical examination is a must...

I am advising you a few more tests to confirm the arthritis:

1. ESR
2. CRP
3. Complete blood count
4. Anti CCP antibody
5. X Ray of both hands AP view

Also, do let me know your location so I can guide you to a rheumatologist for proper assessment and initiation of treatment
