Suggest Treatment For Hot Flashes, Tiredness, Weakness And Fatigue

default
Posted on Fri, 11 Sep 2015
Question: For 3 weeks I have had a recurring undulent fever/hot flushes, increasingly extreme tiredness (not normal healthy tiredness), general weakness and fatigue. I moved from United Kingdom to Switzerland 12 weeks ago and have been healthy although naturally a lot of work and some stress, and have eaten more diary produce than I would normally eat. I am 52 years old, female. I have medication for an underactive thyroid - Levothyroxine, and a low dose of Rampril to control high blood pressure. I have had malaria (historically in the 1980s and been treated). Four weeks ago I had dental surgery for dental implants, there appears to be normal healing and no sign of infection.

Brief Answer:
Could be due to hormonal imbalances common at your age

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Hot flushes in peri or post menopausal women is common and occurs due to hormonal imbalances. You might need some hormonal support if such a thing is recurring and seeing a gynecologist can help further. But please note that in such a condition fever is unlikely. If you have intermittent fever, the underlying cause needs to be evaluated and you need to see a doctor for the same. Your tiredness could be due to your thyroid ailment and the thyroid profile needs to be checked. The malaria that you had in 1980 in unlikely to be bothering till date.

Let me know if you have any specific queries and I would be glad to help.
