Brief Answer:
Could you please post the audiogram report

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for posting the query

There are various surgical options available depending on the type of hearing loss and the age of the patient.

If the diagnosis is otosclerosis then stapedectomy (removal of the stapes and replacement with prostheses) would be performed. In case of severe sensorineural hearing loss cochlear implant can be tried.

If you can post me a copy of the audiogram report, I can help you in a better way.

Hope I have answered your query; I'll be available for the follow up queries.

I don't have the audiology report other than that the hearing had not improved after the grommets were inserted , the fluid has gone and any infection gone as well.My hearing aid specialist said there was no improvement and one test was worse.

What is entailed in this procedure, and the costs and Hospital stay. Have a husband with Multiple Sclerossis.

Brief Answer:
Audiometry helps in deciding further management...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for writing back

I'm extremely sorry for asking the reports. Let me be very XXXXXXX with you, audiometry reports play a major role in deciding the future course of action. I don't want to misguide you and put you under psychological turmoil.

The cost varies according to the procedures performed. Stapedectomy is covered under insurance whereas a cochlear implant may not. For the former procedure you will have to stay in the hospital for a day and latter requires an admission for at least 3 days.

Hope this clarifies your doubts.
