Posted on Tue, 14 Jun 2016
Question: I seem to be having a lot of stomach or intestinal distress lately (2 months) which often causes me to lose my appetite completely. I seem to get pain in the mid-section periodically. I don't know if there is any connection but now I am getting nose bleeds at least twice a day which have been occuring over the last three weeks.

Brief Answer:
Explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome

Your concern is appreciated

The gastrointestinal upset can be due to number of reasons common of which is GERD , peptic ulcer disease , gstritis, gall stones, cholicystitis, diverticulitis, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis,
Pain around umbilicus with anorexia is also sign and symptom of appendicitis
It can be due to intestinal obstruction as you have previous history of it too
As ultrasound is normal so many of the conditions gets excluded, although some need clinical co relation and examination like appendicitis and peptic ulcer disease would need an endoscopy.
Nose bleeds may be due to different reasons like dry nasal passages , forieng body, any trauma to the mucosa, deviated septum, nasal polyps, allergic rhinits, sinusitis , any coagulation disorders or drug that blood thinners.
A nose examination can be done to see and blood tests like PT/APTT can also be done

Hope it helps
Thanks

please consult your doctor before taking any further course of action

Wishing you best of health
