Suggest Treatment For Gastric Lower Abdominal Pain Radiating Towards Groin Area

default
Posted on Mon, 5 Oct 2015
Question: Last night I had an experience for the second time in 3 weeks. It begins with what feels like gas pain in lower abdomen but quickly moves to groin area. Left testicle is in immense pain. Like I have been hit and pain radiates across lower back and even upper leg. Both times this has come on suddenly and left for the most part after some time. I have a dull ache in groin and weird feeling in left testicle now...even though the tough pain is going. I can feel soreness in some type of tissue at top and bottom of scrotum but I don't think its a knot because it is similar in both testicles...though it isn't sore in the right one. I am very concerned and will be calling my doctor tomorrow but wanted to get some insight today.

Brief Answer:
Early proper diagnosis and to rule out torsion

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
Young male having sudden pain in one of the testis with radiation, the torsion should be ruled out as early as possible.
I would advise you the following:
To rush to ER to have urgent ultrasonography and color doppler study to confirm or rule out the torsion of the testis. This is so also as the history is sudden.
This will also to help for the differential diagnosis as epididymo-orchitis or any other problem.
You will also have clinical evaluation, examination and other investigations of urine and blood and other tests like ultrasonography of the abdomen and X-ray of the back or MRI if indicated.

Early and proper diagnosis is the key for the correct treatment.

I hope this answer helps you to get a proper diagnosis, and get a proper further treatment. Please feel free to ask for more if you need to or if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
