Brief Answer:
possible fungal infection of toe nail to determine by test

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am sorry for the situation the 3 weeks old baby of your friend is in.

From the photo you provided, it seems that is suffering from toe nail infection (most probably fungal ) especially if any other person in his hou
lse is having same infection problems with the nails.

I advise to run a microscopic examination of the nail to determine fungal infection.

Until the test is done or if you cannot run such test as soon as possible, I advise to :
- wash with warm water and soap
- rinse well
- dry well
- apply gentian violet locally for at least 2 weeks
- let it dry
- then apply miconazole cream locally

Hope it was of help!
