Question: I have developed fungal infection near my groin area and inner thighs.
Can you please suggest creams which are topical antifungal and corticosteroids. (i.e cream which serves as both steroid and antifungal) which are commonly available in drugstores in United States ?

Brief Answer:
antifungal powder- zeasorb or cvs, steroid cream- hydrocortisone

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Fungal infections can take 2 to 3 weeks to completely resolve, as the fungi take their time to respond to treatment.
In addition to applying the cream or powder (which would be better since fungi like moisture), you would also need to keep the area dry as possible and reduce any friction/rubbing.

An antifungal powder would help with keeping the area dry as compared to a cream.

Eg of antifungal powders are zeasorb or cvs antifungal powder

The steroid cream should be used for a few days only (3 to 4) to help reduce the inflammation in the area.
If used for longer may then start to delay healing.

Eg of steroid creams- hydrocortisone, desowen, kenalog, elocon

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Currently I am having Terbinafine Hydrochloride Cream (Tyza Cream ). Can I use this along with Zeasorb Powder. Are these 2 will be enough ?

Brief Answer:
no known interactions

Detailed Answer:
HI

The terbinafine is an antifungal as well. It can be used on its own, if you use it for the 2 weeks with no changes then you can use the powder.

If you wish however, you can use them together, there are no known interactions between them used topically together.

Please feel free to ask any other questions
