Posted on Tue, 14 Apr 2015
Question: Hi
I have been diagnosed with thalassemia minor. With a slightly enlarged spleen.
My Haemoglobin is always on the lower side of 10 – 11.5 from beginning but never faced any kind of problem till date.
My D3 and D

My physician has advised me 5 injections of 2ml vectofol each on every three days and there on one injection each week of 5 injection of 2ml each.

After 4 injections I checked my Haemoglobin and was surprised to see that was at the same level i.e 9.9 also next day after the injection I feel minor giddiness.

Brief Answer:
It is vit b12 injection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. You have tajen vit b12 injection. It is useful only if you have vitamin B12 deficiency. Otherwise there is no use of that. You should check your vitamin B12 level. If it low then you should continue vitcofol injection as per prescribed dosage. Otherwise no need for that.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.

Brief Answer:
Vitamin D is low, vitamin B12 low normal.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You have low level of vitamin D3 and low normal range of vitamin B12. You should continue your vit b12 injections and you should take vit D3 supplements.
You also have high indirect bilirubin which suggest hemolysis and your low hemoglobin may be due to hemolysis.
You should go for peripheral smear examination and complete liver function test to search the cause of your jaundice and low hb. It is not due to vitamin supplements so don't worry about that.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
