Suggest Treatment For Ear Infection And Sinus Headaches

default
Posted on Wed, 8 Jul 2015
Question: I have had a roaring sound first in my right ear and then in my left and sometimes both. I always have tinitus but this is a much different sound. When it occurs there is a marked hearing loss. This has been going on for several weeks. My doctor said it was an ear infection and put me on antibiotics with no improvement. I also have a slight problem with balance and have been experiencing sinus headaches lately.

Brief Answer:
You are most probably having Meniere's disease or ear infection .

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.

I have read your query , reviewed your medications and understand your concern.

As per your clinical history it appears that you are most probably having Meniere's disease or ear infection .

If I were your treating doctor , I would advice
do investigation like pure tone audiometry (PTA) & Impedance audiometry .
It may show low frequency sensorineural hearing loss seen in early Meniere's disease .

Avoid any smoking , allergens , excess salt , tea coffee & stress .They will trigger Meniere's attack .

For sinus headache ,
use saline nasal spray thrice daily ,
tab Antihistamines at night &
tab Paracetamol .

You will get relief .

You will need vestibular sedative drug to suppress balance problem .You can discuss this with your treating doctor.

Hope this information helpful to you .If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Regards.
