Suggest Treatment For Dizziness, Headache And Swelling In The Body While On Caberlin
Question: Hi Sir,
Around one month back I was having pain below my stomach and discharge from my breasts. I visited a gynecologist and they did some tests. My Prolactin Level came very high:450. I was immediately asked for MRI Brain for tumor. However no tumor was detected in the MRI.
I was prescribed Cabeergoline (Caberlin 0.5 mg) for 1 month/ 5 days a week with 2 days gap. I am having serious side affects due to medication as below:
Swelling in body
headache
dizzines: i fell asleep anywhere
too much congestion from behind my ear to head(feels like some heavy liquid is inside
taste is gone: everthing tastes same bittery metallic type
difficulty to concentrate
tooo much irritation with souns
never hungry & constipated(2 times washroom in 5 days)
slow
feeling of vomit after eating
my doctor is currently out of station. So I am not sure what to do. Please suggest if I should stop the medication or not. Also what should I do for my ear problem as it is very irritating with any voices.

there are few possibilities.
1. Microadenoma , which MRI could not pick up.
2. Some medicines causing hyperprolactinemia.
So kindly review if you were on some medications. like, antacids, pantoprazole, antimpsychotics etc.
now if none is the cause and still cabergoline is prescribed, then the dose recommended is once in 7 days, i.e. once a week not every day. So probably there has been some communication gap, and you are being overdosed.
please hold the medicine for now. retest your prolactin after 6 weeks and get back to us.
