Brief Answer:
ORS is the mainstay of treatment

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

It is a common practice to take medicines like Norflox TZ or metrogyl for loose motion. But irrespective of whether you take such medicines, it will take 3-5 days to recover and these are practically meaningless to be taken unless there is bloody stool associated. But since you have started taking them, you must complete the full course of 5 days in order to avoid development of antibiotic resistance. Stop metrogyl since Norflox TZ contains tinidazole which is of same category as metronidazole contained in metrogyl.

The mainstay of treatment in case of loose motion is ORS (oral rehydration solution). It will help in replenishing for the salt and water lost. Unless adequate ORS and fluids are taken, dehydration may result. Weakness could result from dehydration. Adequacy of hydration will reflect in the number of times urine is passed. If it is normal, you need not worry. But if not, you should visit the ER without delay.

The other symptoms are associated and you need not worry about them. They should gradually get corrected once the episode subsides.

Be sure to take plenty of curd or yogurt. It contains beneficial bacteria which should help. No other medicines are required. ORS is what is needed.

Hope that helps.

Regards
