Question: Hello doctor,
I am suffering from chronic back pain from last few weeks. Took some painkiller but only temporary relief. I am software consultant & sitting almost 14-15 hours / day for work. Please suggest.

Hi

Chronic back pain warrants further tests starting with Xray, Ct scan and even MRI. You will need to see an orthopedic surgeon for it.

Also get your serum calcium and vitamin D levels checked.
Avoid lifting heavy weights
Avoid sitting for prolonged times. Take a 5 min break after every 30 min - 1 hr of sitting
Back exercises as suggested by a physiotherapist are also helpful after doing the tests.
