Suggest Treatment For Chest Pain While Having Asthma

default
Posted on Tue, 28 Jun 2016
Question: I have mild asthma, and also suffer from autonomic nerve disorder which effects several areas. I have been diagnosed with POTS, I also have to be treated for low blood presure, and I have been diagnosed with super ventrical tachycacardia. Last Thursday night I starting having best pains, and I have been feeling very weak. On Friday my asthma seemed worse and as the day progressed my chest pains worsened, I felt very short of breath, but I also had some quick sharp chest pains on left side and milder pain down the back of my left arm. To be quite XXXXXXX I felt like I was dying! I did not go to the emergency room, because I have been a couple of times in the past year and a half with chest pains and it was caused by the tachycacardia. But this time was different. I did not have the usuall rapid and irregular heart rate, as I said I felt short of breath, tightness, pain and extreme weakness, and I have been feeling extremely weak for a week or so. I hate to go to the doctor because of my Autoimmune condition is so hard to explain, but this condition has been worse for several weeks, with more drastic heart increases and drops and more blood pressure drops and increases. I have never had an acute asthma attack before, but from Thursday evening until Saturday morning I used my inhaler without relief, but I could take fairly deep breaths. I know that I had some type of attack starting on Thursday and lasting until Saturday and I still feel very weak. Sorry for so much information, but my question is did I have a severe asthma attack or is it possible that I had a mild heart attack, and if I go to the doctor can they tell me? I still feel very weak. Hope you can lead me in the right direction. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Additional tests are needed

Detailed Answer:
Dear Mrs,

Chest pain could be caused both by prolonged asthma attack and it can be heart related pain as well.
Weakness could be caused by the same prolonged asthma attack and blood pressure drop, you should monitor your blood pressure, especially when you feel weak.
I would advise you to see your doctor to check your lung function and perform an ECG, it can help to find out the cause of your complaints. Sometimes it is quite difficult to differentiate what is the exact cause, so additional tests may be performed based on the results of ECG and lung tests.

Hope this was helpful
